On our last day at school each of the children in team 1 received a Christmas gift box thanks to the generosity of Mrs Harris. The children were so excited to receive such wonderful gifts that they could share with their brothers and sisters. Mrs Harris even gave a gift for the children to give to their Mothers. Thank you Mrs Harris for your gifts and for making so many children very, very happy. Merry Christmas.

Elf In A Snowglobe?
What will Elf do next? We were watching a movie about a snowglobe. Snowglobes look very pretty with all the glitter when you shake it up. Santa sent us one in the magic letterbox to show us what they were like and Elf decided he wanted to be inside a snowglobe too. Here is AJ and Leylah looking at funny Elf.

Pete the Cat Made Of Shapes
Dothan made Pete the Cat out of shapes. She listened carefully to the instructions and made a cute cat complete with his red boots. All he needs now are his facial features, whiskers and his famous curly, twirly tail. You have made a very cute cate, Dothan.
Our Fun Day
Even when it rained on our fun day, we managed to make it an enjoyable day. We played on the water slide and with the water guns before it rained too heavily and we had to go inside. Mr Whippy turned up and we each had a yummy ice cream. Time for some more fun dressing up and dancing. Then Santa came and wished us a merry Christmas. Our fun day lunch was a pizza party and an ice block. All in all it was a different day but it was still fun with our friends.

Room 13 and 15 Prize Winners
On Thursday we had our end of year prize giving. It was a little different this year. We had it outside and our parents were not able to come and celebrate with us. After our main prize giving we were able to give the children their leis. Here are the prize winners from our class - AJ and Athena for effort, Leylah for citizenship and Aita for digital citizenship. Well done to the prize winners and for the effort everyone has put into learning during such a different year.
What Has Elf Been Up To Now?
We came to school to find Elf has been trying to wrap up our classroom! Here is Leylah looking at the note elf left for us.

Decorating Our Tree
We made some decorations for our Christmas tree and the Elf thought they were lovely. When he tried to made some, Elf got all stuck up.

It's beginning to look like Christmas.
It is beginning to look a bit like Christmas in Room 13 and 15. Santa's Elf brought us a beautiful big tree and when the Elf was setting up the tree he got caught in the tinsel. The children all thought it would be kind to make Elf some friends. Here we are having our picture with the Elf and the tree.

Leylah Continues Her Learning
Even though Leylah has been at home because she is not well, she has continued her learning. Well done Leylah for doing some more learning from home. We listened to the story about the bear who liked ice cream and thought it was a funny story but it made us hungry thinking about what sort of ice cream we liked best. Get well soon Leylah, we miss you.
Fun At School
We have been having so much fun at school - blowing bubbles, having picnics outside, playing in the sand, and finally getting to play on the playground. School is cool!

Leylah's Dinosaur Family
For a fun craft activity, Leylah made not one dinosaur but she made a dinosaur family and labelled them. What a lovely idea Leylah. I like the way you thought about where to take a photo of your family. A grassy setting was just the perfect place for them.
Happy To Be Back!
We are so happy to be back at school! We had a fun day on our first day back and here is a video of us enjoying being with our friends even if it was in a different way.

AJ's Useful Learning
Today AJ decided to learn some of the words at his level. They will be useful when he writes his stories because he won't have to stop writing to look them up. They will already be in his brain ready to write down. Good thinking ahead AJ.

AJ And His Dinosaurs
AJ had fun making dinosaurs. He made one called James and then he made some origami friends for James to play in the mud with. He gave them some plants to eat. I like your story about your dinosaurs AJ and the fact that you made him some friends. We all need friends and I guess even dinosaurs might have liked to have friends to be with too.

Leylah's Maths
Leylah has been using some great maths thinking to see that 2 x 10 is the same as 10 x 2. I like the drawing you did of the duck and her 9 ducklings to solve this problem. You also answered all the reading questions and managed to find so many rhyming words. Great work Leylah.

Drawing A Map
Leylah drew a map to show how she would get to school. She also drew and labelled the buildings she passed on her way to school. I think if I followed her map I would not get lost.
Maths And Reading Are Useful
Leylah has found that maths and reading come in handy when you want to do some baking. She read the recipe carefully and measured out the ingredients and made the most delicious looking cake. Well done Leylah. You have had a very busy weekend cooking, washing up the dishes as well as doing your home learning.

AJ Likes Boomwackers
Leylah's Nature Drawing
Leylah went outside into her garden and found a plant to draw for our Thoughtful Thursday activity. I like the way you have included in your picture some of the little bugs you saw too. You have looked carefully at the shape of the leaves and how they are smaller at the top of plants than at the bottom. You have also been busy with your reading, writing and maths. What a great effort Leylah.
