Drawing Caterpillars

Today we learnt how to use some more tools on the iPads.  We had to use different widths of the pen to draw a caterpillar and a butterfly.  Then we used the correct colours to add details to our picture and wrote a sentence about our picture.  It was exciting to see our work made big up on the Apple TV.  Class 16

Working hard earns a Duffy Certificate

Phoenyx has been work hard in class and earned herself a Duffy certificate and a book.  Phoenyx finds it is fun to use the iPad and stylus for her reading activities. Class 16

Construction Team

This week at Maker Space we made some cubes out of wood.  This week we worked in pairs and we needed to listen carefully to make our cube the same as Mr Barks.  We put glue on the edges to hold them, then Mr Barks stapled them.   We are proud of our efforts of working together. Class 16

Writing with a Stylus

This week in our iPad lesson with Mrs George we learnt how to use our stylus with our iPads.  We learnt how to care for our stylus then we had fun writing a sentence with our strange new "pencils".  Didn't Phoenyx, Jade and Teejay do a good job of writing!  Class 16

Jade's Duffy Award

Jade has been working hard at all her learning and she was awarded a Duffy Certificate for her great attitude .  She chose "The Best Dressed Bear" book.  Thank you Jade for sharing your book with us -we enjoyed listening to another story about Toby and Tim. Class 16

Learning to use Kid Pix

William is busy learning to use Kid Pix.  He found it could be "tricky" trying to use the mouse to draw and colour in circles.  You did a good job William.  Class 16

A Watermelon Party

Room 19 invited us to a Watermelon Party outside under the trees.  We practiced our Pt England manners and waited our turn to have a piece of watermelon.  We enjoyed munching into the melon and Journey Lee said it was "delicious and juicy".  Thank you Room 19 for inviting us to share with you.  Class 16

A Duffy Award for Daz

Daz has been working hard at writing his own stories last week so he was awarded a Duffy Certificate.  He likes the Little Yellow Digger stories and Daz was looking forward to reading his own book.  Welcome to Pt England Daz. Mrs Dwyer

Duffy Theatre Visit

We were very lucky to have the Duffy Theatre come to our school.  We enjoyed watching Duffy encouraging his friend Sienna to read books and we all sang the Duffy Song. Class 16

Our introduction to Snaggolf

We enjoyed having a go a Snaggolf today.  Phoenyx and Tevita learnt that they had to stand with their feet together facing the ball and put their two hands on the club.  It wasn't easy to make the ball go onto the target.  Good shot Phoenyx and Tevita. By Mrs Dwyer

Makerspace Fun

We had fun at Makerspace today.   We made lots of squares using different things like our bodies, popsicle sticks, blocks and lego.  By joining up our squares, we made a great piece of art to display on our wall.  Mrs Dwyer Class 16

A photo of a photo?

We had to find something yellow to take a photo of and Anthony took a photo of Phoenyx's yellow sneakers.  Jade wanted to see if she could take a photo of Anthony's photo on his iPad.  Witari and Kamryn watched to see what would happen.  You can see what our clever children did.

Look what we can do!

We have been learning to take photos on our iPads.  Mrs George took us outside to take a photo.  We had great fun finding just the right angle and closeness to take a photo.  Here are some of us taking our first photos.  Watch our blog to see some of our efforts.
