Cross Country Training

Team one have started training for our cross country run.  We sat and listened to where we had to run.

Listening where to run.

Then we warmed up our bodies by doing stretches.

And then we were off!  Good training team one.  By Class 16

Meeting Harold.

Today Class 16 had our first visit to the Life Education caravan and we met Harold.  Lyn took us into the special classroom and we talked about what our bodies need each day.  We put these words up on the wall.  Then we looked at what our insides are like and what they do.  It is an exciting place to learn how to be healthy.  Class 16

Bouncy Castle Surprise

A bouncy castle came to school on a surprise visit at the end of the term.  The children had great fun climbing up and sliding down in different ways - some jumped and slid, others just slid, sitting up or on their tummy, but no matter which way the children went it was an exciting surprise. Wacky Hair Day

Last Friday was Wheels and Wacky Hair Day.  Three members from Room 16 participated.  Kohatu had some green gel in his hair.  Sophie had her hair tied up in tails which had different colours sprayed on them and Kamryn said, "My Mum put gel and red spray on my hair to make it wacky."

Matariki Stars

Kamryn and Jade F decided to draw a Matariki star on their iPads and decorate them.  Jade F chose to decorate her star  "with little white dots.  I finished my picture by making lots of stars around it."

Kamryn made her "matariki star have stripes on it.  I made a small star then I went around it and made it bigger."

Thanks for sharing your lovely art work Kamryn and Jade.

Books For Us!

At Pt England school the children were very fortunate to receive a book each from the New Zealand Government.  The children were delighted to receive the books and sat reading them before taking them home.

Here are two stories that Witari and Kamryn wrote about sharing the book with their family.

"Yesterday I got a racing car book.  I read my book with my Dad."  By Witari

"Yesterday we got a new book.  We chose the book ourselves.  At bedtime my Mum read my book to me"  By Kamryn
