Rataimore was Room 16's lunch box hero this week. She had her name drawn out and chose some yummy spaghetti. I hope you enjoy it with your family, Rataimore.

Peyton's Tooth is Missing
Peyton came to school with a big smile - but something was missing. There was a gap were a tooth should have been! Peyton said her tooth had come out the night before and the Tooth Fairy had visited and left her some money

Bubbles
On our return to school we talked about our home bubbles that we had been in with our families. We drew our families inside a bubble and made colourful edges. When we were outside blowing bubbles we noticed the rainbow colours on the edges of the bubbles. We also saw how the bubbles popped when they touched each other so we are now in our school bubbles staying spaced out and not touching each other.

Back at School!
It was a very exciting day today as most of the children returned to school. We are keeping safe by distancing ourselves in the classroom as well as outside. The children have been very good at practising "My place, My space" while still having fun, seeing their friends and continuing their learning. We had a fun day, today.

Elena's Puppets
As well as making a wonderful book about Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Elena has been busy making puppets to be able to use when retelling the story. Great work Elena. You have done a great job following the instructions to make your beautiful bears.
Cruze's Dinosaur Fun
This week for home learning we had a Dinosaur theme. I was pleased you managed to find some sun to be able to do the dinosaur shadow activity, Cruze. Did you find that you had to do the activity quickly before the sun had moved? That can be a bit tricky when the sun has moved before you have completed the drawing! You have drawn a lovely dinosaur family as well. Great work Cruze

The Sky is Falling: Immersion Assembly Term 2 2020
At the beginning of each term at Pt England School we have an immersion assembly to introduce the new Inquiry theme for the term. The team one teachers usually make a funny movie - but how could we make a movie during lockdown? Ms Hockly came up with a great plan. Each teacher could film a bit of the movie at their own house and then we could film all of us in a goggle meet. Ms Squires is very clever at putting all these bits of the movie together and so we were able to make a funny movie after all.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears By Elena
One of our tasks last week was to make a book shaped like the Three Bears house and write a few sentences about Goldilocks and the Three Bears in it. Elena was very proud to email me her wonderful book with illustrations on each page and so much writing. You are like a real author, Elena. Thank you for sharing it with me.

Eli's Home Learning
Eli has been on line again during the class and team one hangouts. He showed me some of the things he has been busy doing. His fish have got a new pretend big fish watching them swim as Eli drew them a new friend and put it behind the fish tank. I also met Eli's dog on line and Eli's favourite toy. He has been cooking and he showed me the recipe he used to make a berry smoothie. It sounded yummy and healthy. Great work, Eli.

Cruze Makes Some Puppets
Our home learning this week was based around the fairy story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I made some suggestions on how to make the puppet characters and Cruze and his Mum got busy and made some wonderful puppets. I really like the way Cruze gave his characters some accessories, adding some details to his bears - a tie, a bow and a bib. You can easily see who the characters are. Cruze also added details to his set to make it more realistic by adding a picture on the wall and a plant. Thanks to Cruze's Mum for helping Cruze make an amazing set and the puppets to help him retell the story. Have you tried to add a different ending to the story?

Elena's Exercise Challenge
During this time of Lockdown when we can't play team sports, Ms Va'afusuaga set Pt England an exercise challenge to help keep us fit. Elena took up the challenge to do the exercises and here is a video of Elena doing exercises to spell out her name. What a great effort Elena.

Room 16's Swimming Lessons
Team One were very fortunate to have the opportunity of swimming lessons thanks to the swimming coaches at the Glen Innes Pools. It all seems a long time ago now but I am sure you will enjoy remembering all the fun you had learning to swim with your friends. Look at the huge smiles on your faces when you were having fun on the floating mattresses.

Cruze Continues His Home Learning
Cruze is continuing to learn at home. He has been doing some maths, learning his numbers and subitising dot patterns to 20, learning his words, drawing pictures about the stories he has read, colouring and continuing to make tube crafts. It is interesting to see what Cruze has been making out of cardboard tubes. Keep up the fantastic learning, Cruze. I look forward to seeing more of your learning in the coming week and sharing it on the blog.
