Two More Classmates Turn Six
On Friday we celebrated two more sixth birthdays as Kamryn and Ashley turned six. They received their birthday certificates at the team assembly and team one sang "Happy Birthday" to them. Happy birthday to you both.
The Manaiakalani Film Festival Tomorrow!
Tomorrow we are all going to the Manaiakalani Film Festival. We are all very excited about the big day as we will be film stars on the big screen. We needed to think about being good Pt Englanders so we wrote and drew about it this morning. Here are some of our stories and a picture of us going in the bus.
"Tomorrow we are going on the bus to the Manaiakalani Film Festival. We have to stay with our buddy and listen to them. " By Anihana
"We are going to Manaiakalani Film Festival tomorrow. We have to be sensible to each other and watch the movie quietly." By Najari
We are going to the Manaiakalani Film Festival at Sylvia Park. When we get there we have to get off with our buddy. When our buddy walks, we walk out of the bus. When we sit down with our buddy, we have to be nice and sensible so Madison and Kamryn can do their story. When they are finished we can clap." By Phoenyx

Studying Zoo Animals
Team 1 are off on a trip to the zoo soon so we have been studying some of animals we will see. This week we looked at lions and the children have already learnt a lot of facts about them.

"The lion is a golden yellow like the grass he lives in. He eats meat." Dictated by Journey Lee
| Kamryn took a photo and typed her story on her iPad. |

A Leopard is Flying
A picture of a leopard that looked as it he was flying motivated the children's writing and drawing this week. Some thought he was like a flying super hero with his paws spread out while others thought he was scary. Here are some examples of their sentences.
Jade F wrote - "The leopard has lots of energy. He is like superman. He is hungry and he likes meat."
Kohatu thought - "The super hero leopard is flying to get some food."
William wrote - "The super hero leopard is strong and brave and he is tough."
Tevita thought he was like a running machine - "The lean mean leopard machine is happy to run in the sun."
Kyzel wrote - "The scary leopard is running through the green grass in the sun."
Teejay thought the leopard might have a different reason to run as cats don't like having baths. He wrote, "The scared leopard is running away from having a bath."

Ronald McDonald's Visit
Ronald McDonald came to Pt England to find his missing red and white, super striped sock. On his "way to Pt England" he showed the children ways to be safe in and around cars. We sang the "Make it Click" song about how to belt up safely in a car. Ronald also showed the children how to cross the road safely at a crossing, to look out for sneaky driveways and not to walk near the edge of the footpath.
The children had fun telling Ronald where to find his sock - it was on his back!
Ryder thought it was funny and wrote his story about it.
"Ronald McDonald was turning around slowly. We saw his red and white sock and we laughed. Ronald McDonald was looking for his sock. We helped Ronald McDonald. By Ryder
Madison and Ashley drew pictures of Ronald. They liked his bright red hair.
