Gardening with Mr Vogt

Our IPad Journey

We are continuing our iPad journey learning how the tools can help us with our learning.  Writing with a stylus was so different than writing in a book but we all managed to find the pencil and write our name.
Darren wrote his name with  his stylus.
Filipo's smile tells of his success.

Graphing Information

In Maths we are learning how to graph information.  We found out what everyones favourite colour was by choosing a coloured cube.  Then we grouped those who liked a particular colour and counted up how many were in that group.  We put this information onto a graph using the number in each group and were then able to answer the question - what colour does Room 16 like most of all?

Ofili showed what colour that Room 16 likes most

Learning How To Play A Game

As part of our first weeks activities we learnt how to play games, being patient and taking turns.  The children enjoyed a memory type game called "Shopping".  Working with a buddy, they had to turn over two tiles then check their shopping list to see if the tiles were on their list.  If the tiles were on their list, they were then placed in their shopping trolley.  Harmeny and Sia worked well together and were the winners.

And the winners were Sia and Harmony.

Learning How To Use Our iPads

Using our iPads for the first time is exciting.  We watched a movie about the Kawa of Care of our iPads then we practiced using two hands to carry them carefully around the classroom and listened to instructions on how to get to our  learning.
An exciting moment in our digital journey

Bubbles

Having read the big book called "Bubbles" we decided to try and see if we could make bubbles go "up, up, up".  Isabella and Filipo knew how to blow gently on the bubble wand to make lots of bubbles and they did float up into the air before they went "pop, pop, pop, pop".

Filipo managed to blow gently enough to make some bubbles

Isabella has a big bubble coming out of the wand.
