Celebrating Together

We had a great day celebrating all our learning together at Prize Giving.  It is so hard having to just choose two awards for each class when everyone has been working hard.

Gardening at Makerspace

Our class garden looks very bare.  During Makerspace this week the children started to dig up the soil so that we can plant something in the garden.  I wonder if we will plant some flowers or will we plant some beans like Jack and the Beanstalk?  Watch this space to see what we plant.

AS our Inquiry topic incorporates fairy tales we have started learning about the fairytale Cinderella.  There are different stories based on Cinderella but we all liked the traditional tale best.  Here are some of our stories.

Team One Certificate Winners For Week 3 Term 2

Sometimes it is hard to try new things.  When you are brave and try new things you sometimes find it wasn't so hard and it really was fun.  That is what Aie Sorn and Harmeny found at Kiwi sport yesterday.  They persevered, were able to do some tricky things and ended up having fun.  Well done girls for being brave.

Making the Year One Area

We went and watched the workmen putting up a fence to enclose the Year One playing area.  The workmen needed to dig big holes to put the fence posts up but it didn't take long before there was a fence and gates making us a nice safe area.

Khittamai shows us the big holes for the posts.

Lunch Box Heroes

Room 16 had two children's names pulled out of the Lunchbox heroes box this week.  Harmeny was very brave and she went up on the stage to show the pineapple that she chose out of the cupboard.  Aie Sorn was too shy and Filipo was very kind to her and comforted her so she could have her photo taken.

Learning How To Play A Game

As part of our first weeks activities we learnt how to play games, being patient and taking turns.  The children enjoyed a memory type game called "Shopping".  Working with a buddy, they had to turn over two tiles then check their shopping list to see if the tiles were on their list.  If the tiles were on their list, they were then placed in their shopping trolley.  Harmeny and Sia worked well together and were the winners.

And the winners were Sia and Harmony.
