Matariki

Team one had a fun day to celebrate Matariki.  The children were put into groups and each group did a different activity.  They made kites, shooting star hats, pictures based on the story "Little Kiwi's Matariki" and lanterns.  As it was a fine day we were able to have a "picnic" outside for lunch.  After lunch we put together the pieces of collaborative art to make up the nine stars of Matariki.  The stars looked beautiful.  We all had a fun day celebrating Matariki.

Mareikura is a Writer

Mareikura wrote her very own story by herself.  I am very proud of the effort you put into using letter sounds to write words that you didn't know Mareikura.

Helping Each Other

Dothan and Mareikura were putting together the pictures and phrases from the story "Rosie's Walk".  They helped each other work out the sequence of the story then put the phrases underneath.  What a nice way of learning together Dothan and Mareikura.

Ballet Lessons

Sabian has been practising some ballet positions with her friends out in the bay.  You look just like a ballerina doing plies.
