More Mr Bear's Picnic stories

We enjoyed reading the book Mr Bear's Picnic and this motivated the children to write some descriptive stories and illustrate them.  These include stories by Gabriella, Adrianna and Savanah.

Here is Gabriella's story.  "Mr Bear Is a leader of the bees.  Mr Bear carefully took out the honey from the bees golden hive."

Measuring and Maths

At present we are studying measuring in maths.  And yes this is maths!  We compared our height to each other to work out who was the tallest and who was smallest and this is what we found!  Great measuring and comparing Room 16 you did a great job at finding out the answer.

Books are Friends

We were very fortunate to be given two Duffy Books each.  The children were so excited that they wanted to sit and read their new treasures - they comment how nice and new they were and how they even smelt different!  The books were treasured and taken home to share.  Thank you Duffy Books.

Making Champions

Rm 16 Making Champions mp4 from Team 1 PES on Vimeo.
This term our inquiry topic has been about champions.  Room 16 found there are many ways to be a champion and luckily we are not all champions at the same thing.  Harold helped us be healthy champions by getting lots of sleep, eating and drinking healthy things, exercising our brains and our bodies and being good friends because we all need friends.

Kiwi Sport

Learning skills such as throwing and catch, balancing and playing games together are all part of the Ready, Set, Go programme that the children are enjoying very much.  Tevita used the lesson to write his story and then he drew a picture of himself shooting a bean bag into the hoop.  You were great at using the crocodile grip to hold the bean bag, aiming with your other hand and making the bean bag go into the hoop, Tevita.

Yummy Sausages

A sausage sizzle was held to raise funds for the Kapahaka group.  It was well supported by Room 16 and Charlotte and Temalisi enjoyed a yummy lunch.
