End of Term Treats

We had a special treat for morning tea on the last day of term.   It was fun to celebrate the end of term by munching cookies along with our fruit.

An Awesome Artist at Work

We went to look at the pictures of our Olympic medalists that Mr Jacobsen has been creating in the hall.  Vaha was most impressed with how Mr Jacobsen drew the images and commented that "Mr J 's an awesome artist."  We all thought he was too and we appreciated the finished images more after we had watched the artist at work.

Our Olympic Champions

We watched a video about the making of one of our Olympic champions.  Vaha drew a picture of Eliza McCartney practising to be an Olympic champion pole vaulter.

A Panda at Pt England School?

Tumanako came to school wearing a panda hat pulled down over his face.

Vaha wrote " What is a panda doing at school today?  It was not a real live panda.  It was Tumanako in a panda hat. "                         

 Tmanako wrote "I like my panda hat because it was warm.  I like my panda hat because it was
comfortable."

Tevita wrote "Tumanako has a panda hat.  It is black and white and soft and fluffy."

Measuring a Tower

We have started a new topic in maths about measuring.  Vaha and Jin wanted to measure their tower and see if it was as tall as they were.  Just a few more bricks and it would be as tall as you boys.

Fiafia 2016 Tongan Boys Group

The Tongan boys group looked like fearsome warriors when they did their item on Fiafia night.  Maruis, Tumanako, Vaha, Tevita and Saimone were part of this group.

Wet Day Fun

It was suppose to be our picnic day but it was too wet for a picnic.  Room 16 decided to use our iPads to take pictures of the rain and write a story while staying dry inside.

Healthy Milk Drinks

Twice a week we have milk to drink.  It comes in cartons with a straw.  We are learning to "Drink it dry.  Fold it flat.  Send it back."  We help each other with the folding as this is tricky for small hands.  Thank you Fonterra for a heathy treat. By Room 16
