Darren's Robot

Darren built a robot when he was playing with the Duplo before school.  I liked the way he used the blocks to make a head with eyes, a nose and spiky hair, arms and a body.

Lunch Box Heroes

Room 16 had two children's names pulled out of the Lunchbox heroes box this week.  Harmeny was very brave and she went up on the stage to show the pineapple that she chose out of the cupboard.  Aie Sorn was too shy and Filipo was very kind to her and comforted her so she could have her photo taken.

Making iPad Patterns

We have been learning how to use the tools on our iPads.  We have learnt to take photos, duplicate shapes, lasso and cut out a shape and now we can lock the shape down so that it doesn't move.  Here are some of our efforts.

Visiting Camp

The Year 5 and 6 students are camping at the school grounds so we went for an inspection to see how Ms Squires and Mr Vogt put up the smaller tents.  The big tent was put up by the men using a sledge hammer.  It was very big and made lots of noise as they hammered in the tent pegs.  We then watched Ms Squires use a small hammer to put in smaller pegs.  The hammer just made smaller tapping noises.  Mr Vogt had to use a bigger hammer called a mallet as the ground was so hard to hammer in the pegs.

Using our iPads

Today we had fun learning how to take a photo, lasso and crop it, then duplicate and make a pattern.  There were lots of steps to follow but the children were all able to listen carefully and make a pattern.  The cropping was tricky but they all made a good effort on the first try.
Harmeny is pleased with her pattern.
