Making Bee Masks at Makerspace

Making bee masks was rather popular at Makerspace this week.  They learnt about the two compound eyes of a bee that are made up of hundreds of hexagonal units.  Bees can see things that are invisible to humans like the patterns on petals that guide the bees towards the flower's nectar stores.

Duffy Theatre

Duffy Theatre
The Duffy Theatre came to Pt England to perform for us on Tuesday.  The children enjoyed the story where Duffy ended up inside a game but thanks to the fact that he can read, he was able to find a way out just in time before he was going to be stuck forever.  The production provided a lot of discussion amongst the children as well as some good writing.
