Olivia receives her Duffy Certificate

Olivia received a Duffy Certificate for swimming back in Term 1 but she was away when it was awarded.  Mr Burt recently found some certificates which hadn't been given out and Olivia's was amongst them.  She was very happy to receive her certificate and a book.

Duffy Certificate Awards

On the last day of term Room 16 had 2 Duffy certificate winners.  Both were for reading and Mrs Wilson awarded a certificate to Meria for her enthusiastic sharing of what she had learnt in reading.  Room 16's award went to Chad for the great improvement in his reading.  Mr Burt also gave out some certificates from early in term 1 and Olivia got a certificate for swimming.

Animal Yoga Poses

As part of our Engage programme we have been doing some animal yoga poses.  We found if we did our breathing exercises first to get ourselves feeling calm then it was much easier to stand on one leg like a flamingo.  Also if we focused on something that didn't move but looked straight ahead it was so much easier to balance.
Olivia hung upside down like a bat

Rataimore found standing like a flamingo was easy

Elena used her "outstretched wings" for balance

Learning How to Use Our iPads

We have had fun learning how to use some of the tools on our iPads by listening hard and following the instructions.  We learnt how to look after our iPads, take photos in Explain Everything, put them into a new document and then close the document when we have finished.  At first the children found it hard to take a good photo but with practise and patience they are now great at making sure what they are taking a photo of is in the middle of the screen.

Having Milk And Fruit

This morning we had milk delivered to our class and the children enjoyed sitting outside drinking a carton of nice cold milk with a straw.  We also had some yummy plums to eat.
