We practised our item for the prize giving afternoon so that we could do our best singing and actions for our families.

Jade F was awarded the Class 16 Citizenship award.  Jade F is always helpful and kind towards her class mates and knows how to use the Pt England way.  Kamryn has worked consistantly through out the  year, completing tasks and trying hard in all areas.  Congratulations to Jade F and Kamryn.

Learning to use Ti Rakau

Whaea Saffron showed us how to use the rakau sticks and the children had fun trying to toss and catch them with some success. Kamryn was very surprised to be able to succeed.

New Books for Holiday Reading

Class 16 was very lucky to get a Duffy Book to read over the holidays.

Kamryn wrote, "Thank you for giving us some Duffy Books.  We like reading the Duffy Books.  They have nice stories and we can read them in the holidays."

Santa and the Reindeer

Another Christmas story the children have enjoyed is "Santa and the Reindeer".  The children liked the way that Rudolf didn't give up and like a true champion he kept on practising until he was perfect.
"When Rudolf tried to fly he fell down.  He didn't give up and he pulled Santa's sledge.  He was right up the front."  By Teejay

"Rudolf is a reindeer and he can fly because he has got a magical nose."  By William

"Rudolf couldn't fly but he was a champion and he said 1,2,3 and he was flying."  By Jade F

"Rudolf couldn't fly because he wasn't practising enough.  He tried really hard and he didn't give up.  Then he was the leader.  By Kyzel

Slinky Malinki's Christmas Crackers

As Christmas is nearly here we have been reading Christmas stories.  The children enjoyed listening to Slinky Malinki's way of redecorating the tree with himself as a fairy on the top of the tree.  Here are two of their stories.

"Slinky Malinki is a sneaky black cat.  He destroyed the Christmas tree and mischievously hid the fairy under the rug." By Witari

"Slinky Malinki saw the Christmas tree and ruined all of the decorations.  He cheekily hid the fairy under the rug."  By Teejay

Football Fun

We were very fortunate to have Sport Auckland come and teach us how to play football this term.  We practised football skills by playing fun games such as Rob the Nest and Shark Attack and then we played a game against our classmates.  Thank you Coach Jeremy.
