Alexandra and her Player of the Day Certificate

It is Alexandra's first netball season and she has been learning skills such as catching, passing and defending.  She did a very good job moving around the court and defending so she was the Player of the day in week 8.  Well done, Alexandra.

Logan and Fateh having been using their iPads to complete reading activities.  Logan was asked to draw a picture of what the hungry hedgehog liked to eat and Fateh found he needed to take a picture to insert in his work.  Good work boys that you remembered the skills you needed to help with your reading activities.

A Little Red Digger At School

The children enjoy the "Little Yellow Digger" stories so they were very excited to notice a little red digger working out in the playground.  We watched it scoop up dirt and take it over to a muddy patch on the other side of the playground with Mr Shaw driving it.

"It is just like in the book "The Little Yellow Digger goes to School " but the "Little Red Digger" isn't building us a swimming pool," said Samson.

You were right Samson the digger wasn't making a swimming pool but hopefully the muddy patch won't be so muddy when it stops raining.

Finding Out About Simple Machines.

Room 16 has been learning about simple machines and how they help us do a variety of activities.  We found that simple machines help us do many tasks each day from preparing and eating food, playing on a seesaw or with a bat, building with tools and screws to digging in the garden and riding our bikes.  The list is endless.  Simple machines make our life easier.
