Duffy Certificate Winner

 This weeks Room 16's Duffy Certificate was awarded to Harley.  Harley has had a good attitude towards all his learning.  Good work Harley.

 

National ShakeOut Drill

 New Zealand ShakeOut (Whakahaumaru Aotearoa) was our national earthquake drill held on Thursday 27 October.  It reminds us of the right action to take during an earthquake and like so many things we need to practise.  We even thought about what to do outside so we practised that too.

Team Certificates For Titan and Francis

 Room 16 have been working very hard this week so it was difficult to choose just two people to get certificates.   Francis has been learning his numbers and can identify numbers up to one hundred and Titan has quiet and calm as he focused on his learning.  Well done to both boys.

Raymond's Duffy Certificate

 Raymond tried very hard this week with his writing this week using letter sounds to help him find words on the spelling chart.  Well done, Raymond.  You can do it.

Team Certificates Week 1 Term 4

A new term has begun and Room 16 had two children have been working extra hard this week.  Sione has been working hard practising his reading and Te Hiritanga has been trying hard to find words by herself to write in her sentence.  Keep up the good work Sione and Te Hiritangi.

Sparkles Netball Certificates

 The Sparkles Netball Team had a great season and they enjoyed learning the basics of passing the ball, catching and shooting goals.  They all received a certificate during team assembly at the end of the season.

 

Art Works Exhibition

 During Term 3, Team one learnt about emotions.  We found that colour in famous paintings could also tell us about emotions, so we set about drawing a self portrait of two emotions in the cubism style.  First we made a pencil outline of our face and divided it down the middle.  Then we chose two different colour pastels to depict the emotions of happy and sad and coloured in our outline.  By drawing over the outline in black felt, it made the face come alive.  We then filled in the details.
