Wheels at School

On the last day of term we had a "Wheels Day" when the children were able to bring their "wheels" to school.  Bikes, scooters and skate boards were brought to school and the children had great fun whizzing around the school on their wheels.

Disco Dancing

It was too wet to hold our Olympic Fun Day so a lunchtime disco was held.  Room 16 all went along to the hall and showed off their best dance moves.

BN2 da GG + W

BE NICE TO THE GRASS AND GARDENS PLUS THE WALLS

With all the rain we have had there is a lot of mud around the school grounds so the Friday message at assembly was "BN2daGG+ W".  This motivated some of the students to write and draw about their experiences.

Training to be Champions

Training for our cross country means we need to warm up our muscles, follow the leader jogging around the school three times and then warm down.  We are getting better at pacing ourselves so we are not so puffed.

Making the Sun Shine

"We made the sunshine inside our class,"said Charlotte on a wet day.  "We drew around our hands and cut the handprints out.  Then we made a round circle and cut it out.  Gluing the hand prints around the edge of the circle made it look like the sun was shinning."

Your sunny smiles show how much you enjoyed making the lovely sunshine to brighten up the class when it was too wet to go outside.

Camping in a Tent

On Tuesday morning a tent town suddenly appeared on the field.  There was one marque tent and lots of smaller tents that were occupied by the very excited Year 5 and 6's who are having their camp at school.  Unfortunately it has turned rather windy.  The children talked about what it is like to be in a tent when the wind blows and wrote some great stories.  This is Khyani's one.

"The walls of the tent wobbled like a jelly in the wind." By Khyani

What an interesting comparison Khyani as the tent walls would certainly be wobbling and shaking with the wind.

Munching Melon under a Tree

On a hot day there is nothing better than a nice juicy piece of melon.  Today we were lucky to get some melon for fruit so we sat outside under the tree and munched the healthy rock melon.

iPad Excitment !

Today we used our iPads for the first time.  We watched the safety video so we would know how to look after them and then we opened our iPad.  Everyone was very excited and listened carefully.

Charlotte, Khyani and Vika demonstrated the iPad hug.

Listening carefully to the instructions.

Well done Class 16 for a great start to your iPad learning.

The First Day of 2016 School Year

It is the start of a new school year for eighteen children in Room 16.  For some new entrants it is the beginning of their school journey and for others who started at the end of last year it was a time to meet friends and be excited to continue their learning.

Eating lunch with your friends is always fun.
