More Team Work at Kiwi Sport
Working as a team means that everyone needs to co operate in an effort to get the job done and this is what Room 16 had to do to pass a hoop around a circle with everyone holding hands. There was lots of laughing but everyone helped with encouragement and ideas on how you needed to pass the hoop along the circle. We also had to keep a ball between a pair of children while trying to sit down and stand up. Alexandra and Alazye were the first to work out how to do this.

Watering the Plants
At Makerspace the children have been looking after plants as part of learning to respect our environment. Because it has been so hot the plants have needed regular watering. Pene was careful when watering the small plants to make sure all the water went around the small plants.

Working as a Team at Kiwi Sport
The children enjoyed a new game at Kiwi Sport where they needed to work together to be able to put the specified number of "points" onto a "lily pad". It involved working out how to solve the problem - who could help them count in 5s or 10s, how many children would be needed then gathering them around the lily pad. It was great to see the children working together to find the answers.

Going To Makerspace
Room 16 went to Makerspace for the first time this year and made fans. They were able to decorate them by writing and drawing on them with felt pens. They were both decorative as well as being very useful to try and keep cool in the warm, muggy weather Auckland is experiencing at the moment.

"Our IPads!"
It is always an exciting day when we begin to work on our iPads. Room 16 listened carefully to the Kawa of Care video so that they all know how to look after the iPads. Then they followed instructions and learnt how to take a photo and put it into their work in Explain Everything.
