Team Certificates

Joshua and Tupou received certificates for week 1 and Nate received his from last term.

While we were on our trip to the Zoo Tupou tried hard to be on his best behaviour, being kind to his friends and looking out for other Zoo visitors.  He also tried hard to be quiet around the animals so Tupou was awarded a Team Assembly certificate.  The other certificate was for Joshua.  At the Zoo Joshua was the map reader and he was able to tell us which animals we were about to see and how we were going to get to see them.  Thank you for you help Joshua.

Our "Duck Says Don't " Stories.

Room 16 enjoyed reading the story "Duck Says Don't" by Alison Ritchie.

Goose goes away on holiday and gives Duck the job of looking after the pond while she is away.  Unfortunately Duck is a bit too enthusiastic and signs soon appear everywhere and his friends decide they don't like being bossed around and they leave.  I will let some of our writers share their stories of how Duck solved this problem.

"I saw Goose and he is going on holiday.  Duck is in charge of the pond.  He put up some signs like "No swimming", "No fishing".  At the end of the story he was kind and everyone played with him."  Story by Samson

"Duck said, "No splashing Dragonflies and Frogs."  Duck said, "No swimming, no racing, no jumping."  He was bossy.  Everyone is sad when Duck is in charge of the pond.  He was being mean."  Story dictated by Tupou

Friday Rotations To Move Our Bodies

On Friday afternoons we are having rotations within Team One during which we practise activities which make us move our bodies in different ways.  The activities range from Jump Jam, small ball skills, large ball skills, team games and yoga.  Joshua enjoyed shooting hoops and managed to score several goals.  Well done Joshua for managing to dribble up to the goal then put the ball through a hoop.  You were like a professional basket baller!  Watch out Stevie!

Our New Duffy Books

The children were very lucky to receive a new Duffy Book each just in time for the holidays.  They enjoyed sharing them with each other and look forward to sharing them with their whanau.

Joshua's Birthday Story

Joshua has just turned 6 and he got a play station for his birthday.  Joshua and his Dad have been playing on it and Joshua drew a picture of him playing on his play station.

Two birthdays this week.

We had two birthdays this week.  Joshua and Maggie both turned 6 one day after another so they both got birthday certificates at the Team One assembly this week.

Rippa Rugby Stories

Wheels and Mufti Day

Being able to bring your own wheels to school and ride around the school made for an exciting lunchtime.  Wearing mufti made it a special Friday.

Going To Makerspace

Room 16 went to Makerspace for the first time this year and made fans.  They were able to decorate them by writing and drawing on them with felt pens. They were both decorative as well as being very useful to try and keep cool in the warm, muggy weather Auckland is experiencing at the moment.
